About Us

Welcome to the QHKSA!✨

the official HK cultural club of Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario

Our Mission

At the heart of our club lies a passionate commitment to celebrating and preserving the rich cultural heritage of Hong Kong. We believe that cultural exchange fosters understanding, bridges gaps, and creates a vibrant community. Our mission is threefold:

  1. Cultural Exploration: We delve into the multifaceted layers of Hong Kong’s past, present, and future. From ancient traditions to contemporary art, we explore it all. Whether you’re a seasoned Hong Kong enthusiast or a curious newcomer, there’s something here for everyone.

  1. Community Building: We’re more than just a club; we’re a family. Our members come from diverse backgrounds, united by a shared love for Hong Kong. Through workshops, events, and collaborative projects, we build connections that transcend borders. Together, we celebrate the spirit of unity and resilience that defines Hong Kong.

  1. Education and Advocacy: Knowledge is power. We strive to educate our campus community about Hong Kong’s history, culture, and social issues. From film screenings to panel discussions, we engage in meaningful dialogues. We also advocate for social justice, human rights, and the preservation of Hong Kong’s unique identity.

Our Story 📖

The Hong Kong Cultural Club was born out of a late-night conversation between two students who missed the bustling streets of Mong Kok, the aroma of dim sum, and the symphony of languages echoing through Central. They envisioned a space where Hong Kongers, international students, and curious minds could come together to share stories, learn, and celebrate.
